Sister Debra Austin, is a native of Bay City, Michigan. Her mother was the late Margaret Matthews.

Sister Austin was proudly married to the late Deacon Roosevelt Austin, Jr. for 37 years until he passed. She is the mother of three children, Roosevelt Austin, III, Erin & Amber Austin. Her daughter in love Dena Austin.

Sister Austin is a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rodrick A. Smith. She has been a member at Zion for 48 years. Sister Austin was the Founder of the Zion Puppet Warriors at Zion in 1991 and to this day they are still Ministering the Word of God. Sister Austin is on the Deaconess Ministry and sings with the Zion Mass Choir.

In the District Sister Austin was the past Co-Chair of the Deaconess Wives and Widows, and she is now currently serving as the Chair of the Deaconess Wives and Widows Auxiliary.

Her favorite Scripture is: Philippians 4:13; “I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me.”
